Summer Fun: Check out our latest events
Summer is always packed with lots of things to do and places to go – and it’s no different for us, here at Hyundai. We’ve been busy with fundraisers, cultural events, national sporting tournaments, and more.
Taste of Korea
Korean BBQ, ice cream, lively performances from K-Pop artists… On Saturday, June 18th, we held the Taste of Korea event at our office in Markham, with those attending making a donation to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the wildfire rebuilding and relief efforts in Fort McMurray, Alberta. It was part of the broader Hyundai family effort to donate $100,000 to the charity to support fellow Canadians affected by the disaster.
Overall, this was a great event for a great cause that brought a lot of people together – including a Genesis Coupe Club with 10 cars that put on an impromptu car show for the attendees.
Hyundai PGA Scramble
As of writing, we’re about halfway through the qualifying rounds of the Hyundai PGA Scramble of Canada – the country’s newest amateur golf event of its kind. It has drawn and is expected to draw amateur golfers from across the nation playing in over 100 of Canada’s top golf courses. Players with a registered PGA handicap form teams of four, aiming to rise through local and regional tournaments with the eventual goal of playing in the finals with a PGA professional as team member at the renowned Lookout Point Country Club, in Niagara, Ontario.
“Hyundai is proud to help bring the PGA Scramble to Canadian golfers,” said Don Romano, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. “This grassroots, amateur-level tournament gives golfers everywhere the opportunity to compete, play with professionals, and challenge themselves to raise their game like no other series in the country.”
Not only that, PGA Tour Champions player Rod Spittle is the official event ambassador. Best of all, there’s still time – until August 15, to be specific – to round up three friends and enter your foursome in the premiere national amateur golf event in Canada.
The Sound of Steel
It was our first year as an official sponsor of the renowned Montreal Jazz Festival, and after grooving, swinging and swaying our way to success – what a high note it was! From Hyundai’s three bustling outdoor exhibits showcasing the Sound of Steel (or, Rythmes d’acier, en français) to our meet & greet with Quebec celebrity and Hyundai spokesman Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge for a night of jazz in the Hyundai VIP Lounge, to headliner Jamie Cullum’s performance on the feature night of the festival, this was an experience beyond comparison.
We’re glad Hyundai could share the passion with jazz lovers this year. Those of you who attended the festival can attest to the magic and music, and those who haven’t – we seriously suggest you book your flights and tickets for next year’s Festival International de Jazz de Montréal.
